The Cody Kellner Points Index (CKPI) is an advanced computer ratings system that is designed to rate teams in any sport. The CKPI is currently used for the purpose of rating Division I-A Football and NFL teams.
The purpose of the CKPI is to rate teams by using a least-squares regression method. The CKPI only takes into account wins and losses. The CKPI rating for a team is calculated by their average game rating. Game ratings are determined by the results of the game coupled with if the location of the game (home, away, or neutral).
The CKPI is based completely on mathematics and logic. There is no personal bias in the calculations of my ratings.
My ultimate goal for the CKPI is to have it nominated and included as one of the computers in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).
